Remember the Art-o-Mat? A company in Canada is joining in on the idea of re-purposing old cigarette machines.
Distroboto machines, located in Montreal, feature small pieces of art, cassette tapes, mini-CDs, pins, magnets, mini-magazines, and anything else that can fit in a cigarette-sized pack. The founder says it is based on the American Art-o-Mat, but Distrobotos are not repainted and refurbished, just straight-from-the-junkyard condition. Additionally, since Canadian cigarette packs are slightly larger than those in the US, the machines to the North can accommodate a greater variety of products since there is a wee bit more space that can be used.
What's the best part (or the worst part, for some)? You don't know what you're going to get. Insert $2, get a surprise. And with the variety offered, a bargain for a little entertainment and the experience.
